Father. Husband. Kindergarten Teacher. Hike Coordinator. Coach. Blogger. And that’s just this week. :)  My name’s Peter and I love to share the outdoor world with others. Nature is constantly changing and surprising me. It truly is the perfect place for a lifelong learner like myself. No matter how many times I  travel down the same trail, nature always provides a new and exciting opportunity. For me, hiking is an integral part of my entire life. Besides hitting the trails with my wife and daughter as much as possible, I am an active volunteer in a local hiking chapter and am the lead teacher and organizer in my school district’s new forest kindergarten program. While I am personally enthralled with nature and the outdoors, seeing nature through the eyes of a child is a truly remarkable and rewarding experience.

I am a born and raised Wisconsinite. Anywhere along Wisconsin’s 1,100 mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a my favorite spot to hike, though my family and I love to take advantage of our amazing state parks and many urban hiking and outdoor opportunities around the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

Personally, I do hope to hike the entire Ice Age Trail and become a highly sought after 1,000 miler. Jokingly, I tell people I am already a unique kind of 1,000 miler as I feel like I’ve hiked the same one mile section with my daughter thousands of times. I also have aspirations of hiking every trail in all of Wisconsin’s beautiful state parks. Additionally, I aim to combine my love of the outdoors and writing to become a published children’s book author. In my teaching profession and volunteer experiences, I hope to bring as many people as possible into the outdoors and hopefully instill a love of nature in them and inspire them to do the same for others.
