My name is Liz, and I am thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2015! I am 22 years old, vegan, and I come from Western Massachusetts. I am perfectly willing to admit that I am a total backpacking novice, but I definitely am no stranger to hiking, and having a great love of nature.
Why I'm hiking the AT:
I am hiking the Appalachian Trail because, as John Muir once wrote, "The mountains are calling, and I must go". I am completing this hike as a vegan to raise awareness for the vegan lifestyle, and to stay as healthy as I can during the journey.
